I always use a drift and a hammer. The first side out is harder because of the angle. This worked great because it doesn't slip and you can really wack it a few times. Didn't need it but am happy I have. Lent to a buddy, He loved it.
Got this for my Panhead project during the tear down for paint process and it was probably the best tool purchase during the build. Just took a hand full of wacks and the cups pop right out. No brass drift or trying to hit the cups out evenly on the sides and what not.
You will not regret buying this one.
