5* to Lowbro and the fender kit. The other Colony kits are disappointing
5 stars go to the guys at Lowbrow Customs, they did a very good job in handling this order! Mixed feelings about Colony: I ordered 3 different Colony bolts and nuts kits, one for the front fender, one the headlight visor, and one for the handlebar clamp, which according to Colony’s product descriptions (on website and packaging) should fit my 2014 Sportster Custom. But only the hardware included in the Front Fender kit # 2271 really did fit this bike as it should. The Headlight Visor kit 9783-4 unfortunately came with lock/split washers, although the Harley stock installation uses flat washers for mounting the chrome plated visor (if I have been informed correctly, lock washers shouldn’t be used on chrome or paint, because they will damage such surfaces). Even worse is the Handlebar Clamp kit # 8796. Although Colony says it would fit my 2014 XL Custom, it doesn’t fit at all. The stock bolts (HD 3210A) are 1 1/4“. The length of the bolts in the Colony kit is 1 1/2“… Money and time wasted.
Front narrow fender
Came pretty quick shipping wise. Fender itself just needed a quick sanding and then some self etch primer and some good coats of paint and a quick wet sanding to make it look perfect. Fits with my 100/90 Michelin tire, there’s maybe like 2mm of clearance between the tire and fender though. If I really wanted to I could probably reform it real quick to give more clearance but it fits so F it.
