I finally got these installed the other day and got some miles on them both in the dirt and on the highway. Here’s my initial 100+ mile impression: If you’re trying to turn a Sportster into a scrambler/tracker, these are a good place to start. I know it’s a square peg, round hole sort of thing, but I wanted my daily rider to get me where I normally like to go. I run a lot of forest service roads for fun and highway to work. Road tires weren’t getting it done. These were still loose on sandy roads, but held their own on regular dirt/mud/clay. Highway riding was fine. There is a noticeable rumble from the lugs, but not nearly the highway hum I was expecting (like what you’d find on a pickup with knobbies). I road up at 80mph for a while and they still tracked fine, but again, not as smooth as 100% road tires. All in all, if you’re willing to sacrifice some small Highway comfort for the ability to take your bike to more adventuresome places, these are pretty good.

I bought 3 Baja tires. They are excellent. I bought two 100 tires for the bike and the 90 for my sidecar. They are extremely heavy duty and not easy to mount but worth the effort. Best tires for my old sportster . They look great on my wire wheels.

Just ordered my second set of these... If you are commuter and looking for a high mileage street tire there my be better choices. That said I ride every day here in the Keys 2-50 mile trips and this is an outstanding tire from sand to gravel to pavement... what you give up in straight up mileage is returned by a factor of 10 in off road and wet road traction period. One caution is that healthy sportsters can overwhelm the available traction on pavement with a heavy hand and aggressive lean angles... always controllable...
