The basic measurement needed when determining your grip size is the motorcycle handlebar diameter. Typically motorcycles have a 7/8” diameter or a 1” diameter handlebars. This measurement is taken at the end of the handlebars where the grips are mounted. Take a look at our Motorcycle Handlebar Guide
for more info on how to measure your bars, as well as how to choose the most comfortable bars that offer great handling and control.
Typically, larger diameter handlebars, like 1 ¼” handlebars, have been turned down where the grips are installed. It’s important to know that your throttle grip will have a larger diameter than your left handlebar grip (clutch-side) so it can accommodate the throttle tube.
