Crafted with precision and designed for high-performance, the Gasbox Sportster rigid frame is the perfect foundation for your custom Sportster chopper frame build. This frame is engineered to fit 2004-2022 Harley-Davidson Sportster engines (excluding Revolution Max engines) and is the ideal choice for riders looking to upgrade their chopper with top-tier quality and durability. Frame construction is thick-walled 1" diameter tubing with 1-1/2” backbone and seat post, completely TIG welded.
The engine is rigid-mounted in the frame, eliminating the rubber bushes. With a rigid rear section as found on this frame, the belt drive must be converted to a chain drive ( Shop for a chain conversion kit here ). The axle plates are set up for stock 1" or 25mm Sportster rear axles and stock axle adjusters (NOTE: 2004 stock axles measure .75", you will need to convert to a 1" axle). The rear brake will require a rigid-type disc brake caliper mount to pivot on the axle with an anchor rod bolted to the frame, as the stock swingarm mounted caliper bracket will not fit. The frame features the brake anchor rod tab fitted and ready to go.
The neck has a 32 degree rake and is 3" higher than the stock location. The neck is set up for a 1" stem, and utilizes 1" stem Timken style neck cups. This stem size is very common and is found on narrow glide front ends on Sportsters 1982 and later, and on Harley Big Twin front ends, including narrow glide, wide glide, OEM and most aftermarket springer front ends.
Frame includes an engine rear mount spacer. Front rigid engine mount kit will be required ( Lowbrow SKU 014246 )
The frame has a gusset to fit EVO type top motor mount brackets that connect the heads to the frame. A bracket such as Gasbox SKU 003998 will be required.
This frame accepts stock 2004-2020 Sportster rear wheels. Frame comes with brackets to fit stock OEM mid footpegs.
Bracket for rear brake master cylinder (Harley OEM# 42456-87C, or SKU 011468 ) is pre-mounted. This will allow either stock Mid footpegs and brake pedal or stock forward mount pegs, with appropriate length brake rod. Front engine mounting plates are pre-drilled for Harley forward footpeg mounts, spacers and bolts not included.
Belt to chain final drive conversion is required. Frame backbone is 1-1/2" diameter to fit many other chopper tanks. The frame has a tab to fit early Sportster kickstands H-D #50062-52A. The steering neck uses bearing cups for 1" diameter H-D steering stems. This allows either stock EVO Sportster front ends or other Narrow Glide front ends.
The frame features integrated upper mounts for Horseshoe Oil Tank SKU 010404 .
The gas tank mounts on this frame are designed for direct bolt on of the Ironhead Sportster Replica Stock Style Gas Tank SKU 007587 . The frame has an integrated bracket in front of the engine for the stock rectifier.
Frame is pre-drilled to fit Gasbox SKU 013519 battery box adapter plate to mount the Gasbox SKU 009408 Universal battery box.
A rear fender mounting bracket is installed and welded under the seat area. If using forward controls with this frame they must be from 2004-2013, forward controls were changed in 2014 and will not work
Once you receive the frame you will follow the included instructions and contact the Gasbox and the MSO (Manufacturer's Statement of Origin) will be mailed directly to you. This will have the frame's individual serial number (stamped into the the neck of the frame) as well as the purchaser's information. This is needed in most places when titling a custom motorcycle.
Note: There are no returns on carburetors, electrical items, full frames, hardtails or made-to-order items (such as magnetos) unless there is a manufacturer’s defect.
