I've had a homemade primary mount before, it broke quickly. This one looks super well made and sturdy. My primary bolts look long enough that the thickness of the bracket shouldn't be an issue. I did use plenty of locktite gel! My only issue, which I figured before I bought it, is, you sometimes hit it with the back of your calf. We'll see if this becomes an issue while riding and stopping. Might switch to stainless steel hardware if this stuff starts to rust. I have mine set up vertically. **** the police!
