Not all oil tanks are created equal. Lowbrow Customs makes the best possible oil tank for your Harley-Davidson Sportster, Big Twin (Panhead, Shovelhead, Evo, Twincam), or any other make motorcycle. Why are ours the best?

Our motorcycle oil tanks feature three mounting points, two top and one bottom, to ensure that you have secure and stable mounting. This is only important if you actually ride your motorcycle; we do, and these tanks are road-tested and ready for anything you can throw at them.

We also make a variety of rubber mount tabs in .25 inch thick steel which are perfect for mounting your oil tank. These tabs can be welded to your frame to safely and securely mount your oil tank. Instead of welded fittings to the top of the tank, our vent and return fittings have furnace-brazed tubing, keeping all the fittings nice and tidy at the bottom of the tank for easy oil line routing.

Our oil tank end caps are spun steel with tooling made specifically for our oil tanks. All of the the components that make up these tanks, including the steel, are USA-made. Designed for your motorcycle, every single piece of our oil tanks are custom, from the smallest detail on up. We didn't use any off the shelf parts; we used our brains, hard work, and our drive to bring you the best parts we can.

- 3 quart tank
- Center fill with non-vented aluminum filler cap.
- Feed, Return and Vent fittings are on the bottom of the oil tank. The return and vent fittings have an internal tube that goes above the oil level inside the tank. Feed, return and vent fittings all accept a 1/4" NPT fitting.
- Two 5/16"-18 mounts on top and one 5/16"-18 mount on bottom ensure sturdy and stable mounting.
- Tank body is 10" long and 5" diameter

This tank comes with an unvented, aluminum 1-5/16"-12 thread filler cap. There are a variety of custom style oil and gas tank caps sold separately, including brass, aluminum, and cast aluminum styles from brands such as Lowbrow Customs, Mooneyes and LC Fabrications. You can easily change up the style and look of your bike with a different filler cap. Please note that there are both vented and unvented caps, this oil tank comes with an unvented cap as the oil tank is vented from the vent fitting at the bottom, though you could really use either style cap you like.

I originally purchase an oil tank from the other dudes in Ohio and then quickly realized once I got it that it was ******* heavy, needed additional modifications for mounting AND all of the flow holes were on the wrong side. Dumb. So I watch Tyler's oil tank video and bought this one. It's much more stout and nicer looking. The ends help with the flippity floppys of the paint also. In saying all of this, anyone interested in a TC No's oil tank? Never installed.

i bought your oil tank for my sportster and your instruction diagram says 1/4 npt fittings for the oil feeds,we have tried 3 different types of 1/4 npt fitting and none fit your tank.??

If you are not familiar with NPT fittings here is a description for that NPT that stands for national pipe thread the threads are tapered, those types of fitting are used for plumbing , natural gas , propane gas/oil ect . The fittings will not thread all the way in to the end of the threads because of the taper on the threads . They are designed that way in order to seal . Thread tape is necessary. There is some especially for gas/oil in a yellow container at Lowes or Home Depot Do not use the white thread tape that is not for gas .
The tapered thread seals by means of an interference fit between the male and female threads. This means that NPT fittings should never bottom out in the port. The fitting should screw in only part way before jamming. If an NPT fitting screws all the way into a female port without binding, the threads are either mis-tapped or worn out.

Hey guys! I love your stuff and I love what your doing! I also love you oil tank #009178 but I need it with a cut out for a battery (as I cannot afford a magneto). Do you offer such an item? or can you recommend a similar tank with the cut out? Thank you for your time, Len.

Sorry we do not have that tank with a battery tray . For this size tank I think it would not have enough capacity by the time that was added .

Is it at all possible to get the Lowbrow dimpled oil tank with a side fill? I fuckin love the look of these tanks, but need a side fill. And will the temp gauge caps fit these tanks? Thank you in advance for your response.

Sorry we do not offer it with a side fill and the cap has threads most of the temp gauges I have seen are a push fit
