THE VIRGINIA CITY ROUNDUP: WHERE CHOPPERS AND AMATEUR RODEO MEET!
In the mountains south east of Reno, Nevada lays a small ghost mining town called Virginia City. The sidewalks are still wood planks, the bars are called saloons and almost every building there is from the mid 1800's. This step back in time little town is also home to Choppers Magazine's Virginia City Round Up motorcycle show and rodeo.
I don't care who you are at one time you watched some old western film in your life and you thought to yourself how cool would it be to go there. Well this is it, you are there, right smack in an old western movie but surrounded by good company, choppers, and a lot of fun.

WHAT IS THE VIRGINIA CITY ROUNDUP?
The concept of this event was a real breath of fresh air as well. Ride a chopper to the show grounds, sign up to ride a 2000 pound bull, and then maybe take a ride in an ambulance or get to hobble off to your chopper and go the bar after.
Friends egging friends to ride or wrestle a bull. "Come on man what's the worst that will happen!?" they all would say one after another.

Oh well a lot can happen and did. Pure chaos and ever bit entertaining. We have all been to a bike show and we know what those are all about but mix that with the carnage of a rodeo, hell yeah!

Oh let's not forget to mention the fairgrounds where everything went down gave off some of the best views money couldn't buy. It was the perfect setting for this show. There are also countless twisty and windy roads that surround that area, just try and not get some wind in your face while you are there!
If you are feeling really adventurous, Lake Tahoe is only 45 min ride west of Virginia City as well. This event really had it all and you should definitely make plans to attend next years, which is only going to get bigger and better. Some really amazing craftsmanship on this Shovelhead, I kept coming back to this one over and over again.
This was called something like Shoedoggin', apparently you wrestle a calf by their horns to the ground and get them on their side. Let's just say most of the humans lost that battle.
I think the kid cowboys were having the most fun out there!
