8mm red and black wire set
Great wires and hardware. Came fast, watched the how to on YouTube, the rest I history! Lol!
Got it to work well, but took some wrestling.
Now that it's on the bike and running, the bike runs really well. For background, I'm running a Norton Commando 750 with aftermarket Boyer-Bransden electronic ignition and EMGO coils (supposedly Lucas equivalent). My plug is an Autolite AP63. My experience is that I wouldn't follow the video's instructions as far as putting on the 90 degree boot. Every time I pushed the wire through the boot, put on the end, and pulled it back; the end pulled off. Do that a few times and the core gets crudded up to where you're cutting off another piece of wire. Good thing there's nearly four feet in the kit. I used all of it before I had made two five-inch runs I Iiked. The better approach I found was to put the terminal on first, lube it up with grease, shove it into the boot end, and wash out the whole thing with spray electrical cleaner when I was done. I did measure the entire 4' length of wire I got with the trusty Fluke meter to get a resistance, and 4' yielded about 4Kohms. So I figure that the 5" run of wire from coil to plug would produce 400ohms or so, which is probably about right for the electronic ignition I'm running with that AP63 plug. The previous owner had some horrible "racing" plug in the bike with a 5K suppressor on a 7mm copper wire, and that combination left some pretty sooty plugs. I debated copper versus carbon core (7mm vs. 8mm) wires at some length, but finally concluded that a small amount of resistance with that aftermarket ignition setup would probably be good. Ask me what my plugs look like and how the bike runs in about 1,500 miles or so. For now, the bike is far smoother at idle -- and less inclined to die due to misfire sitting at a traffic light. That's a big deal on a bike that doesn't have a starter motor and has to be kicked. It also starts more readily and can come off the Mikuni "fuel enrichment"setting a lot sooner, which I take as a good sign. Again, these are first impressions, and a few thousand miles of riding will tell me more. For now, I'm rating this kit as four stars. Overall it works well, and the reason it missed getting that 5th star was the amount of fiddling I had to do to get that 90 degree fitting into the boot -- and the fact that the video sort of steered me wrong.
Great quality, looks great, really easy to install.
8mm cloth plug wires
Quality product with a cool chopper look to them. They were super simple to set up too.
Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for
All products receive a great quality everything is great can't wait to start building
8mm Plug Wire
Exactly what I ordered.
I was absolutely pleased with my purchase and they even came a day or 2 early. Nice quality!
When I get them, I’ll let you guys know. Haven’t been let down by lowbrow yet, so not expecting to
Great. Maybe update video?
Product is awesome and I'm pretty sure I built correctly, but the video even for this kit is only for the screw-on style ends (which this kit isn't). Would be great for the DIY stuff to have more photo instructions.
Good feedback on the video! We will add it to our list of tech videos and add it to our Youtube channel!
Great company great product great customer service would definitely use again!!!
8mm Suppression Core Cloth Spark Plug Wire Sets - Black with Red tracers
The boots were a bit tricky to get on. I lost my kleins, but you actually only have to remove the silicone insulation and leave the actual wire still wrapped (at least for an EFI sporty). The Lowbrow video is not exactly what these are but I was able to figure it out and I was already one six-pack of tall boys deep. Bike looks much better and the cloth really adds a nice finishing touch. Only reason its not 5/5 is because the video confused ***** me, who kept thinking I lost something because nothing threaded together. But on that note the Lowbrow videos are the best I have ever seen on motorcycle maintenance.
Spark plug wires
These things work great and look great as well. I’ve ordered two sets now as I changed the color of my bike. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a more vintage look but modern quality!
