If you need to replace the generator on your generator model 1936-1964 Harley-Davidson motorcycle this will do the trick. This is a complete charging system complete with regulator. This special edition brings a stock-like vintage look to your generator. Cycle Electric is now producing Mattias "Le Beef" Andersson's hand polished cast prototype in a limited run. State of the art technology meets Le Beef's inimitable style. The DGV-5000-CP offers a custom polished variation of our traditional end bell regulators. The smooth contoured fins pair particularly well with Knuckleheads, Panheads, and various custom bikes with its polished raw aluminum finish.

Higher service output than a stock generator backed by a 2 year Cycle Electric guarantee. Repair service is available after 2 years; this is the last generator you will ever need to buy for your bike. The "L" or low voltage model comes with a low voltage regulator specially tuned for a small 12-volt battery, such as an Antigravity 12 cell AG-1201 lithium battery. This is especially important when using a small battery in a horseshoe oil tank. The low volt was designed for use when converting from a 6-volt system to a 12-volt system.

The DGV-5000-LH has threads for the earlier, original 1/4"-24 mounting bolts. Check the diameter of the generator hardware mounting holes in your engine case, if they are 5/16" you may need the Cycle Electric DGV-5000L, which is meant for the later style 5/16"-24 generator mounting bolts.

These low voltage models also have Cycle Electric 'M' option which assures cradle clearance when installing on 1957 and earlier motors. The "H" in the model designates heli coils for ¼"-24 mounting bolts. This allows the use of the original ¼-24 mounting bolts used on 1957 and earlier motors. Made in the U.S.A. by Cycle Electric right here in Ohio!

Note: 1936-1957 When replacing 3 brush generators use #31035-58 oil deflector, discard spring and old deflector

Note: Check for clearance on foot clutch models. Over all length of DGV-5000 is 7.58 inches from gasket surface to fins.

Note: There are no returns on carburetors, electrical items, full frames, hardtails or made-to-order items (such as magnetos) unless there is a manufacturer’s defect.
