Does not fit XL 883 deluxe.

The bolt patterns are different. Wish they fit cause this is a cool part and would have made cleaning up my bars super easy.

This did not fit on my 1987 Sportster it looks well made but did not fit I am going to keep it. It should fit other Harley Davidsons.

Simple is better

After I finished my winter project and never thought to replace the notorius starter relay in the notoriously hard to get at spot down on the mudguard on my 30 year-old Softail while it was all apart, of course it fried. I considered a MacGyver jumper wire and button, or a "manual" engagement to get me through summer, but then I wondered if there wasn't something a little less tacky than a dangling switch and less awkward than a Phillips head like the one I remembered my grandfather sticking into the starter on his 1940 Allis Chalmers tractor when I was a kid. I'd dealt with Lowbrow before via an auction website and had an excellent experience with them, so I looked at their website. A number of these starter buttons came up, and this one was listed as the one for my bike. I ordered it, and it arrived in a couple days. If you have an old bike and most of the electrics are original, this is exactly what you need to get back on the road and eliminate the wonky relay. Even with the help of a dog nose in the work area, this honestly took about 5 minutes to install. Most of that time was spent finding the correct drivers to remove the stock solenoid cover and replace it with this one. New fasteners with Allen heads are included, but not a gasket. I reused my old one, and it slipped into the groove on the switch cover exactly as it did on the stock cover. Works perfectly, and seems to be bulletproof; really nothing to break on it. I didn't do any other modifications or rewiring. The bike will start with the factory switch (when it wants to ha ha), starts with the new button while the green trigger wire from the factory harness removed from the solenoid, starts with the button and the green trigger wire replaced, and...beware...when the button is pushed AND THE IGNITION IS OFF; don't forget, your starter is always energized with the fat red wire from the distribution block. A little tricky to reach until you get used to where it is, but this was money well spent. I'd buy another one.
