You've tried the rest, now try the best! There aren't many options out there for compressing a springer fork for disassembly or assembly. Some don't really work at all, others are a ratchet strap, which is very stressful to use (and to loosen). We have done it that way, but look, we designed this tool for a reason! Follow your own path, but we cannot recommend this new Lowbrow design enough. Our unique design fastens to the headlight mount at one end, and the bracket at the end engages with the springer axle, 5/8" for vintage springers on up to 3/4" as found on aftermarket springers. The included all-thread is long enough to compress an extended front end. The turnbuckle can be easily turned by hand to compress the springer with ease! This tool will work with OEM Harley springer front ends as well as aftermarket springers such as Mid-USA, Paughco, and any others that have a headlight mounting hole and a 5/8" - 3/4" axle. We even included a piece of solid steel round bar to act as a mock axle. Now there is no need to put undue stress on the front axle. All necessary hardware included. Made in the USA.
