A FRANKENSTEINED, FULLY CUSTOM, LONG-DISTANCE HARLEY EVO
"A Frankensteined, fully custom, long-distance Harley-Davidson Evo built by The Gasbox out of Cleveland Ohio. It's my only turn-key bike that starts up every single time and it just wants to go forever.
The suspension is like riding on a cloud, the brakes stop on a dime, and I'm just extremely comfortable riding really long distances on this bike.
That's not usually something you hear every day about a fully custom built motorcycle.... I absolutely love it" - Gorgeous Greg
1986 Harley-Davidson FXWG fully custom motorcycle.BUILDING THE COOLEST BIKE OUT OF THE PARTS WE ALREADY HAD.
This bike build started at The Gasbox around 2009. It mostly started as a pile of parts that we had been collecting at the shop. If you've ever worked in a motorcycle shop, then you know how bike parts just accumulate.
Since it was a speculative build and not tied to a customer, we mostly worked on it in our free time and after hours. The bike had a couple different gas tanks and fenders before we really nailed down the overall look.
B-side, Frankenstein in deed.Flush gas cap, drag bar set up, Gigacycle Garage Corsair front end, and a heavily modified SX125 Harley gas tank.
THE EVER-EVOLVING EVO
After being on the road for more than a decade, Greg asked me to make some drastic changes to the front end. Looking over the bike I also saw a couple more things I wanted to address and or modify to enhance Greg's riding experience.
We swapped out the 39mm front end with a Gigacycle Garage Corsair inverted front forks with dual disc brake set up. It made for a big difference from what was on the bike but somehow really fits the blacked out tough guy look this bike already had.
Oh, and the new dual disc radial brakes really grab!
The last thing I wanted to figure out for Greg was where he could rest his left leg with a little more comfort and safety in mind. When riding long distances he sometimes would put his foot high up into the motor above the Ulitma primary belt case.
Custom floor board laser cut and bent with skateboard grip tape.

Sometimes when you build a custom bike, they eventually leave with a customer and you never see the bike ever again. Maybe that customer ends up selling it, and then it gets sold a few times more. Only to end up sitting in a some warehouse or garage in a collection collecting dust...
Who knows whatever really happens to most builds once they leave the shop? When I found out our close friend Greg was going to purchase the bike, I knew I would have a chance to see the bike again. And that after all this time I still get to enjoy working on it as I did so long ago.
