If you didn't make it down to New Jersey for Cheap Thrills- you really missed out! Cheap Thrills is a motorcycle show and a swap meet all in one, held at the Asbury Park Convention Hall right on the Jersey shore. When you walk in through those giant doors on the boardwalk, you'll be greeted by friendly faces and you'll feel a little rush of excitement once you enter and your ears are taken over by the music and the sound of different conversations. Get your wristband at the booth, then you're officially in for a great day! The swap meet /vendor area is well organized- be prepared to take many laps, there's a lot to see!

From rare OEM parts, to the "in" chopper parts- you'll find it all in between the handmade artwork, vintage knick-knacks and people wearing flannel.
Once you made your laps downstairs, (that's right, there's two floors.) you'll make your way upstairs to see more vendors.
Custom and handmade goods spread through out the show.
Here is where I found custom painted helmets and tanks, clothing brands and even a table where they were selling homemade hot sauce! (with chips to try it with!) Upstairs is quieter and more personable. You also get a GREAT view of shore when you look out of the giant windows up there. The show itself is smaller and more intimate, but there is a lot of detail to see in-between the lines.
Check out that Sissybar.
Unit Triumph Chop.
From your classic Shovelhead choppers, to custom Triumph's and Honda's- the show really had it all.
This Shovelhead was sooo nice!
Be sure to snap photos, take a few laps and keep names and bikes in your mind because at the Cheap Thrills table, you get to vote on your favorites.
I thought it was very cool of them to have several categories like "Best Shovelhead," "Best Panhead," etc. Not only did they have those categories, they also had a People's Choice AND a Best in Show.
Beautiful shores at Asbury Park.
The day went by pretty fast and before I knew it, it was time close up and head out. Headed off to dinner and then went to the bitchin' after party.
If you've never been to Asbury Park, make sure you're hungry when you go because there's a lot to choose from!
The Snake Charmer.
There's also a lot of little shops and store fronts to see during the day, if the coastal chill doesn't bother you. I'm looking forward to next year. Walter does a great job and puts on one hell of an event. Keep your eyes peeled for information on next years event, and be sure you make it down to the Jersey shore!
We'll see you there. https://cheapthrillsshow.com
